DPS - Digital Power Switch

The high power switches present an alternative to the traditional on/off switches. The switching operation is carried out totally electronically using power semiconductors. A pin turns on an integrated electronically switch with lock when put into the "On" female connector. Only changing the pin to the "Off" female connector turns the DPS off. An ultra bright LED signals the active system. Batteries up to 8.4 volts can be connected. The maximum continuous current is approx.
8 amps (temporarily 20 amps).

Two versions (connection cable with JR UNI contacts or with MPX high current connectors) allow for the usage in regular receiver applications as well as for e.g. ignition equipment. An integrated ESD protection guards the parts from high voltage peaks (e.g. through static discharge). The Digital Power Switch can also be used for products of other manufacturers which do not yet own a fail-proof electronically switch (e.g. for battery switching).



Miscellaneous


If (additional) voltage monitoring for the receiver battery is desired, a battery monitor can be attached. The Orbit M-Saver indicates the voltage of a battery via 12 LED's. Besides 4-, 5- and 6-cell NiCd/NiMH batteries, LongGo batteries (LiPo) can be monitored, too. The M-Saver is simply put into the pin connector of a DPSI switch. When using two battery monitors, the state of both batteries connected to the DPSI system are being monitored and indicated. Please find additional information in our e-shop.

For our products we use exclusively the green Multiplex High Current Plugs and Sockets. This proven connection system can forward very high currents and constitutes a reliable and low resistant connection. MPX connectors are excellent applicable for connecting servos, too (wing connectors).

In the e-shop there are high grade printed circuit boards available for MPX plugs and sockets which can be attached and soldered directly to the soldering pins of the connectors. Connection cables can be soldered onto the opposite side of the PCB. Fastening of the cables is now much simpler and there is only ONE heat shrink tube necessary for isolating the soldering points. Different versions of these PCB's are available which are also offered as sets.

In order to allow for simple and effective fastening of the MPX connectors in the model, a new kind of housing was developed. As the first step, the plug (or socket) is to be glued into the housing using superglue. After drying out, cables are soldered to the connectors and isolated with heat shrink tubes. The finished connector can now be screwed from the rear to the side wall of the fuselage, a wooden board or a wings root (e.g for connecting a servo). A shapely faceplate builds the clean finish. This mounting allows for charging the batteries from outside without opening the fuselage. The high capacity LongGo batteries therefore possess this socket housing at their charging cable by default. There are two different heights available (0.18" and 0.2") as well as two faceplate colors (black and white). The housing is delivered inclusively mounting material. Scope of delivery: each of 2 pieces of housing / faceplate / screws M2.5x10 / stop nuts.

Isolation of soldered connection cables is usually done by heat shrink hoses. This should not be missing in any workshop or service case. We deliver black heat shrink tubes in pieces of 12" (30cm). The heat shrink tube possesses a high shrink rate (3:1) and is available for each cable size in different diameters.

Cable

*** NEW *** highly flexible 4-core PVC-flexible wire. 24 AWG (0.25mm²) cross section, lead colouring black / brown / orange / red (like JR cable plus additional black flexible wire). Carried out as flat wire cable. Manufactured in Germany, best PVC isolation with perfect footing of the single wires. Wires build up from 0.07qmm² single wires. Best usage for balancer connections. 0.06" (1.5mm) thick and 0.25" (6.3mm) wide and available in rings of 16.5 feet (5m).

We offer patch cables as spare or accessory for the RC equipment for the DPSI RV series and the DPSI TWIN in different length of 6.4" and 12" (16cm and 30cm). These cables establish the connection between the DPSI RV systems and the receiver. The single tested cables possess a cross section of 26 AWG (0.14mm²) and carry JR UNI connectors on both ends ("female"). For this patch cables only high grade PVC isolated flat ribbon flexible wires are used which are manufactured in Germany.

Charging cables with MPX high current connectors for LongGo batteries and other applications. There is a special version (V-cable) available for charging two LongGo batteries via one single charger output. Here, the batteries are connected in parallel. The cross section of the charging cables is 18 AWG (1.0mm²) and therefore can carry high currents. High grade gold plated 0.16" (4mm) bunch plugs ensure low resistance contacts with the charging sockets of the battery charger.

Various PVC and silicone strands in several colours and diameters for universal applications (such as for extensions, special cable, antenna strands, etc.). The cables are available pre-packaged in 16.5 feet (5 m) and 33 feet (10 m) rings.


Always needed - never at hand. Servo extension cable with large cross section 3 x 22 AWG (3 x 0.34mm²) and high grade gold plated connectors (system "Blue Line"). The twisted pair cables are produced in Germany and tested separately.
